When Is The Best Time To Move?

When Is The Best Time To Move?

As the moving plans unfold, you may be asking, “When is the best time to move?” Many may think it doesn’t matter what date they choose to move on, but there are times of the year, days, months, and certain weeks that are actually better.

Choosing a certain time based on the moving company and rental truck rates could be key as you work to the point where you set the date. Many will charge less and have more resources available during certain times. So, the first thing you’ll want to consider is the availability and affordability of the rental truck and Pensacola Moving Company.

What Day, Month, Or Week Is Best To Move?

November through New Year’s is the slowest time for moving companies. Many people avoid moving during a holiday. Children are in school and parents avoid having them switch schools during a school year.

Summer months are the most expensive time to move as the demand is much higher. So plan for late fall and winter, but be sure there won’t be much traffic on the road during certain holiday days.

Moving during mid-month will get you the best prices. Most move at the end or beginning of the month, so that means the moving company will be much busier. And, typically leases end at this time. Set the date for the middle of the month for the best option.

Since most people choose the weekend to move, set your date for Monday through Thursday while others are working. Check with the moving company for the fewest reservations during those days and you’ll get better prices and availability.

Pay Attention To Weather Patterns Of The Area You Are Moving To

In the Pensacola area, Spring and Fall can bring plenty of rain. It seems like summer here for most of the year, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be dry or free of rainfall or storms as this is a subtropical climate. Hurricane season can plays a role in when to set your move date.

Moving can be a stressful time for all those involved including your new apartment community & manager or house neighbors. You’ll want to plan ahead as much as possible, finding out all you can on community policies regarding move dates or days. And, consider the space available for the truck so you don’t encroach on the neighbors at an inconvenient time.
